About the Training

This half day workshop will provide you with the advanced communication skills to manage strategically and influence with confidence. You’ll come away knowing how to set clear expectations, adapt your style to motivate high performing teams, lead with emotional intelligence and coach with impact.

Module 1: Strategic Management

  • Be explicit around roles, responsibilities and expectations

  • Prioritise your time to focus on what really matters strategically (the difference between urgent and important)

  • Spend more time on the ‘balcony’ versus the ‘dancefloor’

  • Challenge more, to unlock potential and increase motivation

  • Get to grips with the high challenge-high support principles and identify your underlying beliefs as a manager

Module 2: Emotional Intelligence

  • Develop self-awareness around your natural management inclinations (Goleman)

  • Acknowledge the range of approaches and learn how to apply them in different settings

  • Encourage insight, accountability, and action via coaching

  • Practice advanced questioning skills and active listening

  • Choose the right approach for different situations; know when not to coach

About Isobel

Isobel is an expert trainer, executive coach and senior communications professional. She has been delivering bespoke workshops to marketing agencies, in-house teams and individuals for a number of years. Her talent is in tailoring training sessions to clients' specific objectives, and her style is known for being energetic and engaging.

She is rated extremely highly by her clients, which include Unlimited, FleishmanHillard, Four Communications, Lansons, Eulogy, Babel PR and Nelson Bostock.

​She is licensed in Insights Discovery and has the privilege of being an accredited trainer for the Chartered Institute of Public Relations, where she runs training on a range of topics.

​Before becoming a trainer, Isobel worked in the marketing industry for over 15 years, working both agency-side and as Head of Communications for Williams F1. As such, she brings deep understanding of communication, audience engagement, and influence and persuasion to all of her workshops.
